Adapting Literacy for Persons with Disabilities

Libraries For All adapts literacy for persons with disabilities. They believes that every reader deserves the chance to experience the joy and power of books and libraries regardless of ability.

Libraries For All Branding

Logo & Colors

The logo is meant to be fun, but also represent the vision. Each arrow being a different size/color, facing inward toward the book and each other represents ALL persons experiencing the joy and power of books together. The rainbow color palette is bright, fun and hammers home the idea that ALL are welcome.

Passion & Dedication

Libraries For All was founded by a former school librarian, Courtney Walker, who realized students with any type of disability had little to no access to books and library programming. What started out as adapting a few books for her own students in 2019, grew into a full adapted book library and has now grown into a mission-driven business to completely reimagine what literacy access can look like.

Teamwork Makes The Dream Work

Behind every dream this big and bold, there’s got to be many volunteers. The logo could also stand in as a nod to all the amazing individuals who have come alongside Courtney to assist in realizing this beautiful dream.

Creativity & Community

Libraries For All is a testament to what is possible when creativity and community come together. My goal was to ensure that sense of “togetherness” and the audacity to “dare to dream for a brighter future” came across in the logo and other brand assets.

Final Thoughts

It was an absolute honor to work on this project. I’m thankful I was able to play a small role creating a few design assets to hopefully advance the mission. If you would like to contact, assist or just learn more about Courtney and her team, check out libraries-for-all.com.
